Yup, I’m a Twin

It’s said that the gene of twins runs every other generation but not in my family. We have 6 sets of twins on my mother’s side of the family but none on my dads side. It’s crazy, i know! My brother & I were the first sets of twins to arrive on the scene. What did my mom say when she found out she was having a two for one? “But I only wanted one”. Yes, that’s what she said, she didn’t mean it of course. There was a few ladies there with her that day that changed her life and they all still laugh about it today.

My oldest aunt has a son who is 3 years older than me & Kevin but since she heard my mom utter those words “but i only wanted one” in a story being told she thought for sure my mom was going to GIVE me to her when i was born {now she said you couldn’t pay her to take me.}, because she wanted a little girl too. Needless to say that didn’t happen and I just want to say that i love my entire family for what they’ve taught me. As any family we but heads {hard because we are all pretty stubborn} but all in all we love each other and we are always there for each other no matter what.

The beginning of 2012 was rough for me. That’s why i started a food blog {that i’ve given up and deleted then started The Crafty Side Of Sarcasm.} to get my mind off of things and have a way to communicate with other people like me. I found out early February i had cervical cancer, shortly after that the boyfriend of some time & I decided to call it quits. Needless to say i was a mess!

..But..who is there whenever i needed to talk, needed to listen, or needed to get out & away??

My {womb mate} brother – Kevin. No matter what time it is he will answer my calls, texts, or knocks on the door. He wont watch me cry so he usually turns the bathroom light on and leaves a cloth by the sink so i can pull myself together while he preps himself for whatever talk we may have after i emerge “ok”. He’s funny & ridiculous with something to say always. He makes me laugh and no one can make our days quite like each other. We even got matching tattoo’s. I approached him with the idea when we were drinking {because i thought thats what it would take} with friends but to my surprise a few days later we were leaving my tattoo artist with them. The tattoo’s {below} are the infinite circle {like our infinite connection}, the words “To” & “Infinity” on his & “And” & “beyond” {no we didn’t pick this because of buzz light year, it just kind of happened} on mine. It was my idea to get the tattoo’s on our left rib cages because that’s the closest place to our hearts.

I was debating not writing this post because it’s way personal and i’m not sure you guys would want to read about this. Even though this is my personal blog i’m a little picky about posts i publish for that reason. I just thought i’d give him a little shout out because we always talk about my bloggie ventures.

So i leave you with some photo opps 😛

Told ya he’s crazy

Hopefully they will, it’s fun to always have someone to count on. It wasn’t always like this trust me. When we were younger he’d be the one twisting the knife in my back. Eventually they’ll grow up and learn how special it is. I hope you guys are having a great day!

I always wanted to be a twin. People have actually stopped my sister and me in places and asked if we were twins. And we’re 2 years apart; she’s 3 inches taller than me and thinner; and I have brown hair/hazel eyes while she’s blond, blue-eyed. We do sound exactly the same, though.

My daughter actually started out as a twin, but it never materialized. The ultrasound technician just happened to see another sac (sorry if that’s TMI).

Interesting post. I love hearing about twins. That’s great that you’re close! And I love the tattoos — that’s the one tattoo I would consider getting — the infinity symbols.

Aww! I’m sorry your baby girl didn’t have a matching sibling, that’s heartbreaking. My brother is my best friend, which is good considering we also work together, hah. There are 6 sets of twins in my family, the gene runs wild! I hope you & your family have had a great Saturday!
