The Story behind food: Glazed Doughnuts

January is baking month and I’m all about some baked goods! If my Kitchenaid mixer could talk it would probably ask to leave. Giving a reason like over worked and under appreciated, but I do appreciate it, which is why I use it so much. Anyway enough about hypothetical kitchen appliances. I told you Januaryis baking month to tell you this..TODAY IS NATIONAL GLAZED DOUGHNUT DAY! Did you hear me?! Run out and get ya a nice creamy glazed doughnut! My favorite is Krispy Kreme but I grew up eating those so I’m a little biased.

411 On The Doughnut:
doughnut or donut is a type of fried dough confectionery or dessert food. The doughnut is popular in many countries and prepared in various forms as a sweet snack that can be homemade or purchased in bakeries, supermarkets, etc. Doughnuts are usually deep-fried from a flour dough, and typically either ring-shaped or without a hole, and often filled. In addition to flour, doughnuts may also include such ingredients as water, leavening, eggs, milk, sugar, oil/shortening, natural flavors and/or artificial flavors. Courtesy: Wikipedia

I thought it only to be appropriate to showcase some delicious & yummy looking glazed doughnuts.

I love donuts <3 My dad used to make what he called ghetto donuts. He'd cut Pillsbury biscuits in fourths, fry them and then dip them in powdered sugar. So so good!
