Revelation Of The Past

The more you know about the past the better your prepared for the future.

I have absolutely fallen in love with traveling (as you can see here, so far)! I can only take a week off work at a time and I’m terrified of flying so right now, it’s places I can drive to (which are a lot of great places!). I like taking my mom on a trip once a year and my dad as well. I take them separately to separate places because it gives them “alone” time & time to miss each other, plus it also means I get to hang out and bond with each of them. Dad loves the beach so we usually spend a few days there where as mom likes to venture as do i.

Mom & I visited the Biltmore Estate last November and it was absolutely gorgeous! We had so much fun getting there too, we stopped to eat, shop, & also to be goofy. It was so much fun and we actually learned a lot too.

These photos are up the stairs from the gardens & up top of the stairs is a huge terrace. The house is absolutely gorgeous! If you find yourself in the mountains of Ashville, North Carolina -it would definitely be something to see.

I’d love to see more pics of this. Was the inside just as cool as the outside?

It was amazing on the inside! I was able to take a few pics until the lady told me there was no photography allowed inside the estate. There is a link in the 2nd paragraph with the piTunes I was able to take. 😉

I love it. I only go 7 or 8 hours away but hey at least it’s different than seeing the same old thing every weekend. I hope your having a great start to the week.

  9. I LOVE TRAVELING SO i FEEL YOUR PASSION Leslie, And there is so much to see in our very own backyards aka countries it would take you a good few years to get it all done. so as long as you are feeding your travel bug its awesome!
Spending time with your parents is absolutely a blessing, and of curse they will give yo revelations of the past…its a given. Reminiscing is normal for people of a certain age!

My favorite places to see when we travel are places of history or anything that is “old.” I am so nostalgic! My husband doesn’t always agree – I even love things like broken down barns or homes that you know have been there for a hundred years or more!
