January Goals

Hi 2016, I welcome you with open arms! I didn’t really have a lot to complain about in 2015. It was a good year, mehh but not great. That’s life though right? Without the downs we wouldn’t enjoy the ups, that is how I see it. I’ve got a few things I’d like to weirdo on this month, what are you plans for January?

Blog Related:
• Clean up the blog (delete tags, catagories, etc) – I’d really love to change the design.

• Write more personal posts – I feel as a lifestyle bloggers I don’t really write about my personal life. I like getting to know the person behind the blogs, so this will be an uphill battle as I’m a very private person.

• Create more recipes – I love to eat! It’s only after I finish eating that I do a fist palm to my face because I didn’t photography it and share the recipe with you lovelies.

• Do 1 craft post a month – I’ve totally slacked on this for months. There are just so many I get overwhelmed trying to figure out which one to do. Ha.

• Grow Stumbleupon – I’ve been playing around with StumbleUpon for a few weeks and it’s one of my new favorites!

Life related:
• Stop being so skiddish – I am an introvert in every sense of the word. I need to become comfortable with being out by myself.

• Get out there and run more. I haven’t done it as much as I like. It relaxes and refreshed me, which might be why I feel like I’m going crazy. (No, it’s in my genes)

• Read 8 books in 2016. I love reading i find t relaxing. I finished 5 books in 2015, so why not push a little more. A book can open the imagination and I’ve bought new books!

My plans are to redesign my blog (well, get my blog redesigned), improve and make it how I would like it to be! I want to write more and I would like to collaborate with magazines and other blogs.

I would like to eat better, read more, exercise more and find new friends, people I can share passions and interests with.

Basically, I would like not to waste a single day of the year!

    Happy 2016 Leslie!

Good luck with the blog redesign, it’s so much fun! A fresh look for the new year, I did a redesign right after Christmas. To collaborate with magazinesome sounds like an awesome goal, good luck! Happy new 2016!

I believe I have a bit of gypsy in me as well. I want to get out there more in the new year and share all about it on our blog

  8. Kristin says:

Great goals! Set a specific goal for your running. I’m doing 1000 miles in 1 year (like 20 miles a week). Have a specific number might motivate you more.

  9. Monique says:

I need to look into this Stumbledupon. Thanks for reminding me. That sounds like a great set of goals. Last year I gave myself 52 goals and I only accomplished 8 of them. This year I plan on trying a lot harder.

We have similar goals !! One of my blogging goals is to be more personal with my posts. In addition, I made it a goal to read 5 books this year. I used to read ALL THE TIME so I don’t know why I haven’t been reading lately 🙁

Stumbleupon is one of my goals too! I can’t tell if it mainly depends on other people stumbling your content, or if you submit it, it will still take off sometimes. Let us know if you make some discoveries in that area! Sounds like you have some really good goals for January.

  16. Roxy says:

What a great list of goals! I fairly recently discovered stumble upon and it’s done wonders for my traffic! I’ve noticed that recipe posts are my most popular on there. Good luck!

    Happy New Year,

Sounds like me lol. My husband and I both are introverts. We have a 1yr old now, so that will have to change. She luckily has a best friends next door. If you change up your website some it will give you a fresh look. Something soft and fun would work great.

  18. Ally Fiesta says:

I love stumbleupon! Most people praise Pinterest but stumbleupon is my number one website referral.

I relate to not wanting to go out alone. I have been with my husband for 3 years and am used to always going everywhere with him so if he doesn’t come I won’t go. It is starting to drive us crazy. So I have been doing more without him. I’m outgoing normally but I don’t like eating or going to public places by myself.

  19. Mattie says:

I think writing more personal posts will be awesome for you! People love to be nosy 😉 Your goals are really realistic – I have total faith that you can manage to do one DIY project a month. Everyone loves diy projects! Thanks for sharing, I hope you reach all your goals 🙂

  20. I have chosen my One Word for the year as Balance. I’ll be working hard to create Balance in different areas of my life in 2016. I’m looking forward to the outcome of feeling more centered and everything getting more of a fair shake with a more Balance approach to getting my goals accomplished. Happy New Year!

  21. Tiffany says:

Great goals! I need to get into Stumbledupon more as well.

  22. Laci says:

Awesome, goals i want to mess with stumbleupon as well but so far it’s so confusing and i dont get it !!! 🙂 Laci @ Sequinsinthesouth.com

  23. Zoe Alicia says:

Love that you’ve broken goals down into achievements for the one month of January. Good luck with it 🙂 x

  24. Cori says:

Good luck with all your goals! Take it slow so the introvert in you won’t get overwhelmed. (Ask me how I know! ;p)

  25. I just went through a massive blog cleanup, fixing posts from before I really knew what I was doing. It was a lot of work, but worth it as I can now go forward doing the things I’ve learned over the past few years. Best of luck!

Happy new year and I hope you accomplish your goals.

My goals for the new year center around the word/concept of “completion.” I have many unfinished projects and plans, and I want to see how many come to fruition this year as I put more strategic effort into them.
