Beau Chocolat

Since I’m a single lady, February reminds me of one thing. Nope, not that! Chocolate, chocolate, & more chocolate! I don’t know why but whenever I think about chocolate the first thing that comes to mind is France. Maybe because I love the movie “Chocolat” & I’ve seen it 200 times, if you haven’t seen or heard of it then you should check it out. It’s got Johnny Depp in it (enough said). I’m taking my eating a little more seriously this year I won’t be consuming quite as much as usual. I will however be making myself some milk chocolate & orange truffles to feast on while I’m out with friends on Valentine’s Day.

Since we are on the subject of chocolate & I am a pastry chef I decided to showcase some fantastic chocolate art. If you’ve seen the way these pieces come together then you know it’s a ton of hard work & stress. I wouldn’t eat them if I were you but they are very gorgeous to look at on a table surrounded by mini sweets.

As an artist you can use anything as a medium. What’s better than playing with your food? Who knew chocolate could be so sturdy in its temperament. Maybe it’s just because I love all things creative & food but I really enjoy seeing the two come together especially into something spectacular.

If dealing with computers have taught me anything it’s to always back up your work. I lost 3 years worth of birthday, wedding, themed, & chocolate masterpieces because my old laptop crashed and everything was wiped out. It makes me sad. I’m thinking about working on more for my portfolio though. I’m glad you stopped in!

Those are amazing! And I LOVE the movie Chocolat (Johnny Depp is definitely part of the reason I like it, lol). Every time I watch that movie, I just want to gorge on chocolate, so I usually have to prepare in advance and make sure I have plenty on hand for the event. Hmm…now I want some chocolate! 🙂

That is so amazing that she is a chocolatier. There really isn’t much need for one here in North Carolina. I’ll put my skills to work when I tretire though, I guess. Thanks for stopping by!

I too am a lover of all things chocolate! I’ve never seen such intricate chocolate sculptures, they are all so cool! I especially love the chocolate book, since my favorite thing to do while eating chocolate is to be reading a book. I’m glad I found this post at the Party Under The Big Top link-up!
